152. Jokes. I spent way too much time yesterday reading writing blogs. Getting all sorts of inspiration, but not doing what I should be doing, which is writing! But one agent site was having a contest (closed the day before I found it) that offered a critique as a prize for the best clean joke left in the comments. I'll share two or three that made me laugh out loud.
1. "Did you hear about the cow that jumped over the barbed wire fence?
An udder disaster!"
-Lance
I know. Corny. But my kids will like it. This next one made my day.
2. "A preacher was completing a temperance sermon; with great expression he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
He sat down.
The song leader then stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn # 365: "Shall We Gather at the River."
-Mary-Anna Fragen Stalnake
3. And Julie Page Morgan sent this one in saying her brother thought it was the best joke of 2009.
Two women were sitting together quietly.
I know. I know. A stereotype. But it still made me giggle.
Anyone out there have a family friendly joke or two that tickle your funny bone? Post them below!
